walkscore results.
WalkScore calculates a number between 0 and 100 that represent the “walkability” of a given address by locating nearby stores, restaurants, schools, parks and other essential services.
One of the things that play a big role in the decision of moving to a new place, is the walking distance to essential services and locations. The service presents itself as a tool that helps homebuyers, renters, and real estate agents find houses and apartments in great neighborhoods but it can also be used by travelers or business men that seek hotels which are in a walking distance to local spots.
WalkScore is one of those services, which makes you to think, “How come no one thought of this before?” The concept is that the more places in walking distance from the location specified, the higher the score, Of course each one has a different perspective on what is a walking distance, walkscore solves that by giving guidelines for interpreting the score - Walkers Paradise, Very Walkable, Driving Only…
The locations on WalkScore come directly from Google maps and the results are shown as a map with a left bar that is grouped in categories (grocery stores, banks, coffee shops, etc’).
When you click on a location that interests you on the left bar, it is marked on the map and you can see the address, rating and read reviews that other people wrote about the location (provided by Yelp).
This service is very useful if you are out of town or consider moving to a new location and want quick nearby information. The health benefits of walking and the feeling that you are reducing the environmental damage (saving gas, reduce pollution, etc’) makes WalkScore even more valuable.

Sounds good, but most likely will only work in urban areas where many things are closeby.
